Championship Schedule and Poster Released
Dust off your runners, the date has been set!
February 21st 2009 is the date of the 3rd Annual New England Runner Sled Championships.

Sleddin’ enthusiasts, fans and party goers young and old will once again be making their way to Montville, Maine for a once-in-a-year’s time adventure of speed, racing, food, friends and good ol’ Maine winter fun.
At 8 a.m. runner sled competitors, youth through adult, will be lining up to test their skills, their sleds and their courage.
The first half the day is reserved for time trials where spectators will cheer on their favorite slider as the sleds whiz past one at a time. After lunch the festivities kick it up a notch. Live music will kick off the noon time break. Also at noon, the sledding trail will be open to all: which means non-competitors can enjoy and test their newest creations, put 5 on that old bobsled, race your father-in-law to the bottom or climb on that sled with your young folks. Hot food and drink will be served while the morning’s times are tabulated and finalists announced. The first to compete in the afternoon will be the youth championship, with new runner sleds awarded to the fastest racers. Then comes the adult finals, to decide which racer will earn the title of “The Fastest Runner Sledder in all the Land.” Spectators will surely enjoy all the racing action on the backside of Hogback Mountain. But, for folks who haven’t had quite enough fun, after hours music featuring LOCAL rockers “Steel Toe Booty”, complete with bonfire and partially lit trails will keep your runners shiny long into the night.
